Traditional specialities with 100% traceable origin
HANDL TYROL follows a clear and strict policy regarding the procurement of our raw materials.
You can be sure that all our products, which bear the AMA-quality-seal, are 100% of Austrian origin. For our export markets we use QS-certified quality meat from Germany, thereof mostly from Bavaria.
The Austrian AMA-quality-seal as well as the German QS System are constantly monitored and audited by independant inspections.
In order to guarantee 100% traceability of our products, we are using the fTrace-System.
The AMA-quality-seal
HANDL TYROL has been using the AMA-quality-seal for its traditional Speck and raw sausage specialities since 2009. The proportion of meat bearing the AMA-quality-seal has since been continuously increased.

The QS-Quality System
"QS" stands for quality and safety and is a quality assurance system that is requested by many of our trade partners. Continous unnanounced audits ensure that the required standards are met. We rely on this quality seal as much as on the AMA-quality-seal.
Also in this context 100% traceability is a necessary requirement for us, in order to meet our high expectations regarding full transparency up to the origin of our products.
"The QS-system guarantees for meat and meat and meat products quality assurance across all levels. It starts with the inspection of animal feed and continues on towards the establishments that keep cows, pigs or poultry. Furthermore, the system encompasses the following production and trade levels, up until the sales counter in the stores of the food retailing industry. Only products, that have passed through all the levels of the QS-system, are allowed to carry the QS-quality-seal. That way the QS-quality-seal stands for gapless quality assurance - from the farmer up to the counter."
